Editorial Policy

VoteDekho publishes election data, not commentary. Our editorial standards reflect that distinction.

Sourcing

All vote counts and declared results come exclusively from results.eci.gov.in, the official Election Commission of India results portal. We do not blend in projections, exit polls, or unofficial tallies.

Candidate biographical data (age, assets, criminal cases) comes from affidavit.eci.gov.in, published by candidates themselves under ECI regulations. We display this data verbatim without editorial judgement.

Accuracy over speed

If the ECI source page contains an error, our data will reflect it until ECI corrects the source. We do not "fix" official numbers. When ECI publishes corrections, we ingest them in the next scrape cycle (within 60 seconds on counting day).

No projections

VoteDekho does not project winners before ECI declares results. Pages show "Leading" (rounds in progress) vs "Won" (ECI-declared) exactly as ECI status codes indicate. We never algorithmically predict outcomes.

Corrections

Processing errors (bugs in our parser, database mistakes) are corrected promptly and logged in our corrections log. To report an error: corrections@votedekho.com.

Independence

VoteDekho is editorially independent. We accept no payment from political parties, candidates, or affiliated organizations. Advertising (Google AdSense, when active) is programmatic and not influenced by content decisions. Advertisers have no editorial input.
